About A Vermont Story

Dr. Hunt loves working with kids from newborns to young adults through a myriad of relationships.  She is a partner at Timber Lane Pediatrics in South Burlington and takes care of patients across her life span.   Dr. Hunt has worked at UVMMC, Woodside Juvenile Rehabilitation Center and in the community for just about 20 years.  She enjoys volunteering at her children's school, advocating at the legislative level for youth mental health support and teaching medical students.  Dr. Hunt started  A Vermont Story with help from friends after witnessing the mental health crisis take hold of so many beloved young people in our communities.

David Marlow is a dedicated professional with a remarkable 12-year tenure as the Director of Student Activities at Mt Mansfield Union High School. In addition to his administrative role, he serves as the co-advisor for the Mental Health Awareness Club, demonstrating a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment. As a National Faculty Member for the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), David specializes in the "Student-Athlete Mental Health" course. His expertise in this critical area reflects his passion for ensuring the well-being of student-athletes extends beyond the sports arena. A father of three boys, David understands the importance of nurturing young minds. His personal experiences inform his professional approach, emphasizing the significance of mental health awareness and holistic student development. Beyond the school setting, David actively contributes to the community as a youth coach, instilling valuable life skills in the next generation.

Laura Pacheco Producer/Director is a founder of Rock Salt Creative. She is an Emmy award-winning filmmaker and media activist. She has produced for PBS, PBS-NOVA, the BBC, the National Geographic Channel, The Discovery Channel, International Climate Talks, Film Festivals and in classrooms around the world. Her documentary focus has always been around social issues and current events.

Dr. Scott is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist-Doctorate. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed an APA-approved clinical internship at Boston Children's Hospital/Harvard Medical School prior to graduating in May 2006. She then moved to Vermont to begin her postdoctoral training in the Psychiatry Department at UVM where she helped run a research study testing the efficacy of different medication assisted treatments for opioid dependent pregnant women. In 2009, Dr. Scott accepted a position in UVM's Psychological Sciences department where she was a Staff Psychologist in their training clinic now called Vermont Psychological Services. Dr. Scott supervised Ph.D. students and also had her own clinical practice. Dr. Scott specialized in evidence based treatment, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and primarily worked with children and adolescents. She was sought out for her work particularly with Selective Mutism and also OCD. She resides in Vermont with her husband and two children.
